About Listeny
Listeny is a free, browser-based text-to-speech and PDF-to-speech reader. Paste text or upload a PDF, choose a natural AI voice, and listen instantly with live word-by-word highlighting.
Our Mission
We believe reading shouldn't be limited to your eyes. Listeny helps people consume information with their ears instead — while walking, commuting, or resting their eyes — so they can learn faster and feel less reading fatigue. The product stays deliberately simple: paste or upload, press play, and follow the highlight — no account wall, no desktop installer, and no surprise paywall after you invest time in a long PDF.
What Listeny Does
Paste any text or upload a PDF, press play, and Listeny reads it aloud in a natural voice — highlighting each word as it's spoken. There's no account to create, no software to install, and no limit on how much you can listen to. You can switch between Standard voices built into your device and AI Voice for neural English playback, then resume later because your place is saved locally in the browser.

About the founder
Listeny was started by Saurabh Roy after one too many evenings squinting at long PDFs and wishing they could listen instead. The goal was simple: a reading tool that feels calm, works without an account, and respects that your documents are yours.
