How It Works
Upload a voice memo, dictation track, or any spoken audio file. Listeny detects the language, transcribes speech to text, and lets you copy the result or download subtitle formats. No microphone recording happens on this page — you upload a file you already saved.
Use Cases
Doctors dictate visit summaries on the go, authors capture brainstorming sessions, and field researchers log oral histories. Voice memos from iPhone (M4A) and Android (3GP/MP4 audio) work well when background noise is low.
Limitations
Heavy wind, music beds, and overlapping speakers reduce accuracy. Trim silence at the start of memos and re-export at a higher bitrate before uploading for better results.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I record directly on this page? +
Not yet — upload a voice memo you recorded elsewhere. For live capture, record with your phone, then upload the saved file here.
Is voice-to-text the same as speech-to-text? +
Both use the same engine. This page is optimized for spoken memos and dictation, while Speech to Text also accepts video files.
Are my files stored? +
No. Files are processed temporarily and deleted after transcription. We do not permanently store your audio.
Can I download subtitles? +
Yes. Export TXT for notes or SRT/VTT if your memo belongs in a video project.
